Distinct titles sung by the congregation in the trailing 12 months: ___ / 50 maximum

Count every full congregational song title sung in the window — including Christmas and Holy Week titles, and each title in a medley — regardless of its stage (Rest and Archive titles still count until they age out). A reprise of the same title is not a new title. “Resting” a song does not free a slot today.

New-song gate (before a title enters Trial)

  • Proposed title:
  • Six criteria confirmed in writing (theology · corporate intent · ownership · singability · clear confession · pastoral use):
  • Line-by-line lyric review — Scripture references, concerns, ambiguities:
  • Not a secular / generic love song; congregation does not sing in God’s voice (or documented leadership exception):
  • Singability (untrained voice, row 12, published key):
  • Repertoire function it adds (e.g. adoration · lament · confession · sending) and what it duplicates:
  • Congregation-friendly key and teach strategy agreed with the Worship Lead:
  • Planned first, second, and third outings:
  • In the licensed catalog (or rights cleared; originals: writer splits):
  • Director approval (pastoral review if theology-sensitive):

Quarterly diet review

  • Strong congregational songs to retain:
  • Trial songs to establish or release:
  • Overused songs to rest:
  • Archived songs worth returning:
  • Missing biblical / theological themes:
  • Range, tempo, style, language, or accessibility gaps:
  • Titles aging out of the window next quarter / capacity beneath the 50-title ceiling:
