Media / Lyrics Operator¶
Owner: Tech Lead
Purpose¶
Put the right words and visuals in front of the room (and stream) at the right time — and keep confidence monitors (video monitors) trustworthy so players are not chained to stands.
Owns¶
- Lyric accuracy against the sung arrangement
- House / overhead lyric craft (readability, timing, form)
- Slide timing and confidence monitor feed
- Basic graphic package for the service (per template)
- Flagging when confidence is unreadable from a position
- Running both house and confidence at group rehearsal, not only Sunday
Attendance¶
- Prior group rehearsal is required when you are scheduled for that service (same rule as band) — see Rehearsal Standards
- Pre-service is confirmation, not your first time on the deck for the set
Standards¶
Follow Lyrics & Stage Displays (policy) and Media / Lyrics Checklist (run checklist).
Must at midweek rehearsal¶
- Deck matches set order and song forms (incl. tags/endings)
- House / overhead output on and advancing with the Worship Lead
- Confidence monitors on; readability glanced from stage
- Wrong slides / breaks noted for fix before Sunday
- Outputs isolated correctly (confidence-only content never lands on house)
Must before service¶
- Deck matches set order and song forms (incl. tags/endings)
- Spelling/theology-sensitive lines checked
- House slides meet line-count / contrast standards
- Confidence shows lyrics + section cues; checked from stage when possible
- Spontaneous song library accessible if used
- Backup: second machine or export per SOP
- Outputs isolated correctly (confidence-only content never lands on house)
During¶
- Watch the Worship Lead/lead, not only the script
- When lost, go to a safe title / holding slide — never random verses
- Coordinate with stream operator on shared resources
