Tech Lead

Purpose

Ensure production systems and tech volunteers reliably serve the service with calm excellence — including at group rehearsal, not only Sunday.

Owns

• Tech SOPs in 05-tech/ and equipment routines in 09-equipment/
• Recruiting, training, and scheduling of tech roles (with Director)
• Input lists, stage plots, and show-file standards
• Escalation for broken gear and safety hazards
• Coordination with facilities / IT when needed
• Post-service strike standards
• Enforcing tech prior-rehearsal attendance and rehearsal-ready house + confidence

Weekly rhythm

• Review roster coverage (FOH, monitors, media, lights, stream) for rehearsal and service
• Scan set for unusual needs (choir mics, guest artist, playback)
• Confirm show files / lyric decks are staged for midweek
• Capture issues in a running fix list (who owns each, by when)

Expectations for tech teammates

• Scheduled tech attends the prior group rehearsal (default: no rehearsal → do not serve)
• Media runs overhead and confidence at group rehearsal
• Exceptions only when granted with a qualified cover

Success looks like

Call times staffed; midweek production path already works; fewer mid-service fires; volunteers know the checklist without heroics.
