Platform Etiquette¶
Owner: Director
Presence¶
- Invite the room to sing — volume, eyes, and energy make space for their voice (see Mission & Vision)
- Engage the room; don’t perform at it (see Definitions on worship vs performance language)
- Point attention past yourself — the set may pull people out of the world’s noise, but never away from God; if the room is watching you, make space and re-center the lyric
- When not playing, still worship — not disengaged gear fussing
- Watch the Platform lead for entries, holds, and endings
- Eyes up: use confidence monitors (video monitors); avoid stand clutter (Lyrics & Stage Displays)
- Water bottles staged neatly; no clutter skyline
Clothing & appearance¶
Follow the Wardrobe Guidelines. Default: neat, non-distracting, camera-aware.
Microphones¶
- Assume always hot until proven otherwise
- Never vent about people, politics, or inside jokes on a live mic
- Hand off mics intentionally during spoken moments
Between songs¶
- Follow the plan for prayer, scripture, or silence
- Tuning happens under cover of pads/prayer when possible
- If a train wreck happens, reset with peace — the room takes its cue from you
Green room rule¶
Offstage still represents the team: the green room, the lobby, the parking lot, and the group chat. No grumbling about the congregation, the pastor, or a teammate where others can hear it; take it to the person or a lead.
Alcohol / substances¶
Team members serving that day follow church policy; impaired serving is an immediate stop.
