State of the ArtThe Issues Facing the Church Today

A declaration, a Bible-study guide, and an information portal — on human dignity, the protection of children, nationalism and the Kingdom, advocacy, heresy, and the witness of God's people in the world.

Where to begin

This is a working book — thirty-one chapters meant to be read slowly, argued with, prayed over, and discussed in community. You do not have to read it in order, but the two Foundations chapters set the lens for everything else. Studying with others? Follow the Group Study Plan.

Each chapter wears three hats, marked throughout:

  • Declare — what we confess together
  • Study — Scripture, questions, reflection
  • Portal — context, multiple views, resources

A book for the people of God

State of the Art is written for the whole Church — for pews and pulpits, small groups and seminaries, skeptics and saints. It speaks plainly where the gospel is plain, and listens carefully where faithful Christians still disagree.
